Author Jake Sorich and The Unforgettable M&M

BEFORE IT BURNED DOWN, THE M&M WAS ONE OF THE OLDEST, AND MOST BELOVED SALOONS IN THE COUNTRY.

As long as Montana has been a state, the M&M Cigar Store in Butte, Montana has been there until May 6, 2021 when a fire destroyed the entire building. The M&M saw some of the most wild, notorious and inspirational characters come through its doors. Movies were shot there, people were shot there, and plenty of rounds of shots were shared there as well. The Unforgettable M&M features exclusive interviews from people who worked at the bar, lived at the bar, and owned the saloon. People such as the famed shoe shine Stevie Faulkner, current owner Selina Pankovich, Benny & Charlie Pezdark, who worked there with famed owners Danny Delmoe and Charlie Bugni in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. The book also contains several never-before-seen photos of the saloon, its iconic sign, and the fire that burned it down. Selina also gives her memories of what happened that day, and her plans for rebuilding the bar as soon as possible. Famed author Jack Kerouac once said finding the M&M, “... was the end of my quest for an ideal bar.” Whether you were a famous actor, politician, business owner, miner, laborer, gambler, drifter or destitute, everyone who came into the M&M was treated the
same.
