Author Jake Sorich and The Unforgettable M&M

As long as Montana has been a state, the M&M Cigar Store in Butte, Montana has been there until May 6, 2021 when a fire destroyed the entire building. The M&M saw some of the most wild, notorious and inspirational characters come through its doors. Movies were shot there, people were shot there, and plenty of rounds of shots were shared there as well. The Unforgettable M&M features exclusive interviews from people who worked at the bar, lived at the bar, and owned the saloon. People such as the famed shoe shine Stevie Faulkner, current owner Selina Pankovich, Benny & Charlie Pezdark, who worked there with famed owners Danny Delmoe and Charlie Bugni in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. The book also contains several never-before-seen photos of the saloon, its iconic sign, and the fire that burned it down. Selina also gives her memories of what happened that day, and her plans for rebuilding the bar as soon as possible. Jacob Sorich is an author/journalist/ad designer/actor from Butte, Montana. He graduated from the University of Montana’s School of Journalism in 2006 and has worked at a variety of media companies over the years. His first book, “The Cabbage Patch: Murder, Mystery, Fraud, Gangs, and Ethnic Wars in Butte Montana’s Forgotten Ghetto” was a bestseller across Montana. His latest book, "The Unforgettable M&M" was written as a tribute to the Butte landmark after it tragically burned to the ground in May of 2021.
